Doris Banham Dog Rescue are so proud and privileged to be presented their cheque for £25,000 on the site of their brand new kennel block - a dream that the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust has made come true by awarding us their 40th Anniversary Special Project Award. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and the hearts of all the dogs in our care.
As we struggle to cope with the present national animal welfare crisis, the donation of this kennel block at our main kennels by the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust is a real Godsend. During this crisis we have had to take an increased number of emergency boarding kennels in order to save dogs' lives when our main kennels are full which has placed us under enormous financial pressure. We were 'the last chance to live' for these dogs who would all have died if we had not taken extra kennels. This block will allow us to move 10 dogs at a time out of emergency boarding to our main kennels for rehoming thus allowing us to reduce costs and increase our rehoming rate. We are so very grateful to Jean Sainsbury for giving us this amazing lifeline.

The very loveable Lewis is looking for a home ..... could that be you, or someone you know? ♥️🐾🐾
On the very day that Lewis was due to be pts, we got the call to save him. We were literally his last chance and you, our supporters, helped us to fund Lewis’ rescue. We couldn’t have done it without you!!
Since then, Lewis has come a long long way, on his rehabilitation journey with us.

Whispers in the Wind Event
Whispers in the Wind are holding an event in Weston on Trent Derbyshire this Saturday and have chosen through recommendation and by reading our story and what we do to raise money for Doris Banham Dog Rescue .
The night is Animal mediumship , true inspirational stories from dogs and horses they have worked with that were abused but overcame everything through human love and a little music inspired and written by Richard. It is being held in Weston on Trent Village Hall, Weston on Trent DE72 2BL.
The whispers in the wind tour is about giving all animals a voice and as well as being an animal communicator, animal bereavement counsellor, behaviourist and healer for over 35 years their night is about helping as many animals as possible and bringing humans to a much greater understanding of unconditional love.
All funds raised on this post will be added to the funds raised on the evening. Please donate £2 and we will select 3 donors to receive a complimentary ticket to the event worth £15.

VINCENT IS READY TO FIND THE HOME OF HIS DREAMS…. COULD THAT BE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW?
Vincent is 2.5 years old. He is still stranger nervous but has come on in leaps and bounds.
He has become increasingly loving and playful whilst in our care.
🐾Vincent loves cuddles and will let you do almost anything with him.
🐾He loves running around the paddock.
🐾He also loves his walks, but is a bit strong on the lead at first.
🐾He knows his commands.
Vincent is a large dog who is full of excitement initially, but then calms down.
We are looking for an experienced adult ‘only dog’ home, who are prepared to visit the kennels several times to get to know Vincent and gain his trust. A rural location would be ideal. Vincent has not been cat tested.
He is an adorable boy and has a lot to give the right family.

What can we tell you about Royston?
🐾Royston is a nine year old ‘Staffie Cross Breed’. He loves his belly rubs and can understand and respond to basic commands.
🐾He enjoys his walks, but can pull at first due to the initial excitement of a walk : he’s not keen on bad weather!!
🐾He loves treats and you’ll win him over with those!
🐾He’s a real ‘ladies man’, but has become more trusting around males, as he familiarises himself with them over time.
Any potential adopters would need to make several visits to the kennels to get to know Royston. He will also need to have some bonding sessions with other household members, in order to build up that relationship of trust. ‘Meet and greets’ would need to take place with any dog(s) in the potential adopter’s home to see if a bond is possible. Royston has not been cat tested.
When Royston gets to know you he will truly love you, showing what an adorable affectionate soul he is.
