OUR BOY HAS BEEN TO THE VETS
An understandably nervous little boy arrived at our kennels at 7.30 am this morning. His life has had so many changes but his new life begins now. Thank you to everyone who highlighted his plight and facilitated his rescue. Respect to all of you.
He went to the vets this morning and is now on antibiotic and painkilling injections and had his first medicated wash this afternoon so he should be so much more comfortable. He also had his horrendous nails trimmed. His back is probably a flea allergy. The owner told us the wounds were due to bites during an attack by a cat however our vet is very confused by that as the wounds are so very deep.
Fate allowed this boy to escape and his plight highlighted to the outside world. His rescue would not have been possible without a guaranteed place of safety to take him to and your support allowed us to provide that for him.
His veterinary journey has just begun and we will be watching him very carefully especially because of the deep wounds. Please keep supporting him. Your love and generosity has lifted him out of suffering and he now has a whole army of animal angels on his side. We will give him hugs from each and every one of you and he says thank you from the bottom of his heart for ending his sufferingxxxxx

Thank you for the updates , I know so many of us have been so worried about him. He’s safe now and in the best hands, thank you again for rescuing him. He’s new life begins now, thank goodness he was brave enough to escape, so that people were aware of his plight. You’re safe now little boy 🙏🐾❤️
Soo glad this boy is safe totally horrendous what’s he’s been through .. those long nails are from along time locked up I would say and god knows what else they have done to him .. sick of sub humans evil cruelty to defenceless animals how do these low life scum sleep at night .. hope karma gets them all ! 🐶💔💔

This boy has been on my mind since your first post. Thank you for all you do , you are amazing❤️. He looks like he has a lovely nature despite all he has been through. No way are those wounds a cat! They look like deep impact wounds from something long , sharp and intentional. How can his owner be prevented from doing this all over again? Such a worry.

FIRST NIGHT OF CARE FOR THIS POOR BOY
Last night thanks to you this poor boy spent a night of love. He did not sleep much because his pain and discomfort wakes him and he whimpers. Early this morning he has arrived at our kennels with a vets appointment booked for today which we will update you on.
Please keep donating for him. We have not reached our target yet and his veterinary journey is yet to begin. Miracles like this are only possible because of you. You reached out to him and he still needs you to hold him with your support.

He prayed and together we made it stop last night but he still needs your help because our rescue is all that stands between him and the other 150 dogs being at terrible risk again. We can only continue to be there for them with your help xxxxx
Omg look how he trusts people despite his ordeal. I'm crying. How could anyone do this. Hopefully the owner will have a very short life and suffer pain in his final hours

This poor neglected boy was seen out straying when this video was taken. His back is so very sore and his nails long. When he was returned to his owner he cowered from him and it was tragic for the finder to leave him there as he kept crying and crying.
With your help we can release him. He doesnt want him and would give him up without a second glance but to say yes to this gentle giant we need to raise the funds needed so that we do not put our other dogs at risk. No-one can imagine what this boy has been through but we want to release him from that but yet again to do this mission of mercy we need your desperate help.
He will need to go to Cottam because of his veterinary needs but to make space for him we will need to move one of our Cottam dogs into emergency boarding at £10 per night and we need to raise 6 months which is £1800.
We have a driver who could release this boy from his suffering tomorrow but we have to raise the funds to do this mission of mercy. Please make this mission possible and be the angels this poor boy needs

Please please, can a volunteer not take him TONIGHT, to get him away from whoever is doing this to him 😭😭. It breaks my heart to think of him staying there - and it wouldn't surprise me if the owner moved him elsewhere to avoid RSPCA involvement 🤔

The owner needs to be prosecuted and banned from keeping animals. Sadly he'll probably just get another dog. I will donate and glad this boy will be safe

Now you have him safe, I would have thought you would report his owner to the RSPCA. There is nothing stopping him doing this to another poor animal. There could be other animals in the household suffering, small animals or cats. You have pics of all of his injuries to go with a report. I will donate for this beautiful boy. Dave is a majestic 7 year old ‘Dogues de Bordeaux’ X ‘Mastiff’ - he’s based near Mexborough S64.
💙Please consider help us with his boarding 💙
Dave entered our care after being found on the streets in such a state with a heavy chain around his neck and multiple skin infections. 😭
We suspect he’d been used as a guard dog and then dumped.
Dave has progressed in leaps and bounds with lots of time and love from our kennels team. 💙
His skin is better now, due to medicated baths (as you’ll see in the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos).
Dave :
💬is strong on the lead (although he doesn’t pull, he plods!) ♥️
💬requires an only dog / only pet home
💬needs an experienced ‘breed savvy’ strong owner
💬likes his treats and a fuss!
💬enjoys duvets to sleep on and really hates leaving them for a walk!
💬has learnt his basic commands
💬is fully vaccinated
He loves people and is now seeking his ‘happy ever after’ and that favourite duvet! He will make the best kind of friend you’d ever want 🐾🐾.
