Sharing hoping the beautiful Dally finds a home soon šŸ’–šŸ’–šŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ™šŸ™

🐶 Please HELP with Dally the Dalmatian’s EB , he’s no sponsor 🐶😭

Dally came in to our care directly from the pound. We were his last chance, as he had an imminent PTS. 😭
Imagine, losing your life because you were thrown away… šŸ’”

Dally is a fine dog, smaller in stature than a standard dalmatian.
Dally, just like any dog, needs time to get to know you, so we’d prefer a few visits to come meet him and form a bond šŸ’™

Dally is seeking an ā€˜only dog’, ā€˜adult(s) only’ home and has not been cat tested.

He’s an absolute treasure that just hasn’t been found yet! His walkers adore him!

He just needs to be seen by that right person, so PLEASE do share his appeal 🄰
If you have a Dally size space ?
Please kindly fill in this form so we get a fair idea of your home life :

Times are desperate at the moment and we need your support more than ever to continue our life saving work.šŸ™

🄵 Key Prevention Strategies… 🄵 keep them out of the sun!

Adjust any Walking Schedules:
Walk your dog during the cooler parts of the day (early morning or late evening). If temperatures are extremely high, it is safer to skip a walk altogether!

The "5-second tarmac test":
Place the palm of your hand flat on the pavement for 5 seconds. If it feels too hot for your skin, it is too hot for your dog's paws.

Provide Constant Shade & Water:
Ensure your dog has access to fresh water (consider adding ice cubes) and deep shade whenever outdoors.

Never Leave in Vehicles:
The temperature inside a parked car can skyrocket in minutes, even with open windows or on overcast days!

Grooming:
Keep long-haired or thick-coated dogs properly brushed. Matted fur traps heat, but avoid shaving them completely as their coat also protects them from sunburn.

High-Risk Awareness:
Take extra precautions with flat-faced breeds (like Pugs or Bulldogs), puppies, older dogs, and those that are overweight, as they are significantly more vulnerable to heatstroke.

Recognizing Heatstroke:
Acting fast can be lifesaving, watch out for these early warning signs:
Uncontrollable or heavy panting and excessive drooling,
Bright red or very pale gums and tongue,
unsteadyness,incoordination , lethargy / vomitting or diarrhoea

If you suspect your dog is overheating, move them to a cool, well-ventilated area, pour cool water over their body (avoiding the head to prevent breathing difficulties) avoid using damp/ wet towels as this can trap heat and contact your local vet for immediate guidance.

Cool 1st, transport 2nd…
