Dusty

Dusty, who is 2 years old, came into our care after the local vets contacted us to take him in as an urgent intake. He needed a rescue space the next day so of course we said yes.

We were (are!) completely full but as you know, we struggle to say no to dogs that desperately need us. To make room for this gorgeous boy, we have turned an area room at our kennels into a kennel for him.

Dusty is still only a baby and is going to need a lot of work to build up his confidence as he is very nervous and incredibly shy. He came to us with the muzzle on but Richard has already been working hard with him to help him feel safe and secure.

We know that with love, time and hard work from our fantastic team at our kennels, that Dusty will find his feet, not feel scared and will start to enjoy life once more. When Dusty is ready, he will be rehomed. No matter how long it takes him to get to this point, we will be there with him. We will not rush him.

The team have now decided that Dusty is ready to be rehomed to the right person as he is a nervous dog so he will need a few visits to be able to trust you.  Once he gets to know you he is a lovely dog.  He loves his walks which he did not in the beginning and likes to be fussed on his own terms.  He is very energetic but time and patience and needs someone prepared to work with him he will be a beautiful companion.  He knows his basic commands.
